Neurography was developed by Russian psychologist Pavel Piskariev around 2014, combining elements of intuitive drawing with principles of cognitive psychology. The method involves drawing free, uncontrolled lines and then consciously rounding all points where the lines intersect or form sharp angles — this process symbolically and practically "relieves" tension associated with the chaotic, disordered lines of the initial sketch.

Why rounding? The premise of the method is that sharp angles and intersections are visually and psychologically associated with conflict or tension, while fluid, rounded forms are subjectively perceived as calmer and more harmonious.
